Your first mistake was thinking that the Dinger has a clue. Your second mistake was repeating your first mistake. Please be advised. People like Feigl-Ding, Leana Wen, Eric Topol, and a host of others will never--as in NEVER freaking ever--admit they were wrong. If they mention the folly of the interventions, they will caveat with something along the lines of, "what I had hoped would happen was not realized, despite our best intentions" or some B.S. like that.

Not only that, he moved his family to another country to avoid the harsh restrictions he wanted to impose on others.....he's a clown. Unfortunately a clown with a platform

I saw that, too.

I wrote my own article on China, and intentionally did not use his tweets (I forgive you since his irony was your point). ;-p

Eric's take seem to be "Look how extreme the Chinese Govt's response is! Covid is that bad!" Well, that's one way of looking at it , I guess.

He does this because as he would say if asked "that's different" and in his eyes it is. If pressed he'd say that in the US it was voluntary although it wasn't really voluntarily depending on where you reside but additionally no lockdown in any state was locking people into their homes and disallowing access top leave for needed supplies like food. What he can't see is that this difference is merely one of time and tolerance. Had there not been a pushback against lock-downs along with some states refusing to implement any lockdowns that tolerance would have been pressed by politicians in favor of lock-downs due to the sweet sweet emergency powers it brings them until the point it got to this or at least close to it. US leaders pushing these abusive and overreaching restrictions simply did not think there would be the level of residence there was. They were expecting to push this forward on thru several stages with each being more oppressive than the previous until we reached a [semi]permanent Authoritarian state where addiotnal measures not possible under any other scenario could be pushed into action/law.
