Now that masks are off and we see unambiguously that most people hated them, why did it seem as if most people loved them?

In Japan, 99.9% of people are still wearing them and not just Japanese but non-Japanese too. The propaganda to wear them is relentless. I find it oppressive. Looking forward to reading Ian Miller's book. Thanks for the tip.
According to a news report,, there has been 7,060 unruly passenger incidents on planes since Jan 2021 and %70 of those were over masking.
This notion of masking being popular is an illusion the Authoritarians are pushing.
