It absolutely made me a libertarian. I was uninterested in politics my whole life, slightly leaning to the conservative side, but basically apolitical. Now my thinking is "I will never vote for another Democrat as long as I live". And I voted for Biden, not because I liked him (I'm from Delaware and have known him for a long time) but because of the "anything but Trump". mentality. If I had it to do over, I'd vote for Trump.
"Whether you were on the Left or Right, Covid should have made you a libertarian"
One would think this and yet millions embraced and even liked/loved the authoritarianism the government used to deal with covid. It's human nature to want freedom but not every human being desires the same level of freedom. For some it means not being submissive to anyone or anything and for some it's enough to be free within an agreed upon set of limitations such as laws.
I'd say more than just covid caused that. It was a combination of significant events from a non-establishment controlled candidate becoming president to Britain leaving EU (Brexit). Those 2 events and covid all happened within a few years and combined they did much to awaken a lot of people to just how accurate many so called conspiracy theories are. It's no longer brushed off as conspiracy theory non-sense to say that the news media is used more to spread lies and support government propaganda than what the 4th estate was created to be.

Indeed. Of course, the REASON many have now “found libertarianism” is BECAUSE the masses showed their eagerness for authoritarianism.
