THEM: There were a million excess deaths! And Covid is the only new thing, so they must have died because of Covid, not due to lockdowns and our other interventions! ME: Hmmm. Imagine a ship captain who panicked and completely bungled the standard emergency escape procedures, implementing his own emergency policies instead. He THEN claimed that the 1000 dead passengers all died via drowning, and so he is not responsible for their deaths!
A million people dying from covid after years of draconian "public health" measures and this clown thinks that's proof they were necessary? Is this what passes for logical thinking today? This is only more proof that they didn't work at all, and further, were harmful.
These are the sorts of people in charge in our society. And that's the reason our societies are all screwed up, both before covid and after.
Take any societal problem, call it X. Take 3 common sense policies that might help with problem X, call them A, B, and C. Take 3 policies that will make X worse. Call them D, E, and F. The chuckleheads in charge of all our institutions, both public and private, will pick D, E, and F every time. 100 percent of the time, they will always choose the wrong policies. Every policy they choose on every societal problem results in making that problem worse.
And when it is obvious that D, E and F aren't working, the clowns will double down, then triple down. If anybody suggests the possibility of considering A, B, or C they will attack that person, banish them from public discourse, and try to destroy their career and reputation. When D, E, and F fail, they will claim that just proves they're working.
This is true for any societal issue, from economics, to drug addiction, to military, to foreign policy, and public health and everything in between. Our ruling class is unworthy.
