Masks prevent wearers from seeing down, a view that includes their own bodies and floor in the periphery.

My friend's elderly mom LOVES masks and actually fell last winter and broke her ankle from the fall - and she explicitly said it was because she was wearing a mask and couldn't see well. And you live in a warm climate. Try wearing glasses and a mask in the winter. Even if you only put the mask on when you enter the building, your glasses fog up and stay that way for several minutes.
