3) higher quality of life and in what is produced because of #2
4) A more re-usable/long use society (things are used for longer periods), a more repair-it focused society
5) More citizen aware/representative governance
6) Less corruption in the private & public sector because there are fewer or no large size international corporations that can amass the wealthy necessary to influence government
7) Smaller quality focused business due to biter/larger competition because the free market concept has not been corrupted by big business
Centralization Results In:
1) Faster progression/advancement in technology
2) cheaper goods & services both in price and quality
3) a more disposable society
4) A more toss-it/replace-it mindset in society
5) A governance that less represents/serves its citizenry
6) Wide spread corruption in both the private & the public sectors
7) Lager scale government internecine in private affairs both with the individual and the business world
8) Large international corporations that destroy government via their interference in it under the guise of increasing profits.
Decentralization is better over all even at the cost of much slower advancements in technologies & progress because the focus in a decentralized society is on the micro and not the macro. People care more about both producing quality and receiving quality. Had the US not become centralized we probably would only now be entering the computing age but we'd also still live in a society where in a household the wife can stay home to raise the kids' and they can live in a house from the salary of a janitor at some company or even a school. We'd have a higher overall quality of life. Even though competition would be more fierce in a decentralized system that would IMHO result in better quality & craftsmanship on what is produced. Centralization leads to things like Planned Obsolescence, a concept that justifies artificially decreasing the life/use of a product or service.
