Thank you !! Thank you for having the gonads to say this; it so needed to be said. Our lives and longevity, ought not be captiously delimited by mere whim or ennui. To be , or not to be, is far more complex than merely an attempt to balance two sides of an equation glibly uttered.
Not all Libertarian's and I don't believe in the Libertarian platform does it say anything about being against these. No doubt some Libertarian leaders probably do but the platform itself does not.
Capital “L” libertarianism I take to be a bad guide, because it is pressured to have a view on pretty much everything, whereas little “L” libertarianism is quiet on most issues. https://youtu.be/srf7P970Kg8
While teh official Libertarian party may take stands against these things I believe it's because of either personal bias or even pressure to support them (so as to not appear to extreme) but at it's roots the Libertarian platform is about as little control/management of people and commerce as is possible. That does lead to some possibly uncomfortable places like the part about no borders but that stance still works when used in conjunction with all parts of the Libertarian platform. For example yes it would be a bad idea to open all or Borders without doing anything else. We however could have open borders and by that I don't mean where no one is at the border doing any checking but where law enforcement at the border crossing is not restricting entry/exit unless it based on something legal related like a convicted felon trying to enter the US. If we had no government assistance/handouts or anything else that encourages people to come to teh US just to milk us for those benefits then we wouldn't need the kind of border restrictions we have now.
Libertarianism can work but it's something where it has to be all applied or it won't, at least for many parts of it like the border thing. I believe in Libertarianism because it's the closest to being what I call pure constitutional. I'm not a fan of many in the official Libertarian party but I am a fan and suporter of the platform and its principles.
