I don’t know how my reaction to this nightmare would have been as a younger person. But as someone who grew up in the 70s and 80s I actually remember solid teachers in the Midwest instilling in me the importance of freedom of speech, limited government and separation of powers. Watching the last few years unfold has seriously been like living in a dystopian horror movie.
