God. Is missing. And not a far-anything. Atheists disagree?

Natural law, yes, our God-given inalienable rights, traits and characteristics won't always comport with the grand plans of the social engineers who seek to reduce humanity down to 1's and 0's, computable, predictable, controllable by other men and machines.

If I'm a far-anything for thinking that than so be it; I embrace it.

But they’re not God-given. And, even if you believe God designed our biology, He most certainly didn’t give us language and writing and music. These are culturally evolved artifacts which harness us, pulling us upwards into something more than human: Human 2.0. A tight false notion that we are now as God designed us is a recipe for a sort of purity-driven fascism.

As for civil liberties, one can believe God gave them, but that’s totally a different issue, not one about human nature. But there is no need to rest civil liberties and freedom on God. Its ground should come from the solidity of true logico-ethical foundations.

*should*

That word.

Perhaps that's not possible without God as a North Star?
