If you look at the situation from the perspective of a Jew, everything that Israel is doing makes sense. The Jews have a long history of persecution/oppression by most of the world so it’s no surprise they act/behave the way they do. I did a Substack piece "Making the Case for Israel" outlining why everything they do is something most groups/ethnicities would do if their people had gone thru what the Jews did.
As for who's land [Palestine] it really is, I believe Jews/Israel has made a valid argument for why that is their land. The Muslim hordes are claiming it's there's b/c of their unequaled hatred of the Jewish peoples. Islam is a death cult masquerading as a religion and the world’s nations need to acknowledge this and remove the religious prosecutions that are afforded to most religious groups. Islam is the greatest threat to humanity on the planet and if nations do nothing about it they will eventually conquer every land via Settler Colonialism and turn the nation into a 3rd world shifthole. Islam is a human virus passed onto to others via ideological indoctrination.
That said, this does not automatically make Israel/Jews to be angels just because Islam is an evil threat. I agree that everything they do is for the best interest of their people however that doesn't mean that what they do is not against the interest of others. Every nations government should always do what's best for its people however this can lead to problems with other nations, other groups, as not everyone's interest align.
As for most of the world treating Jews the way they did at the time one must ask the question, and be honest with their answer, as to why was it this way? Are we really to believe that most ethnicities hate Jews simply because they are Jews and not for any other reason? It's possible but its far more likely there is more to this then just ethnicity.
There's a Logical Fallacy called the Bar Patron fallacy that perfectly outlines this. The fallacy is a "What if" scenario/question that asks which is more likely? If you have a town with 100 bars and numerous biker gangs who patronize these bars and for some reason one and only one biker gang has been banned from all 100 bars despite being patrons who pay their tab, what is the more likely answer as to why every bar has kicked them out? Is it just b/c every single bar owner hates the gang just for who they are or is it more likely the gang does something at every bar that is problematic enough to justify banning them and losing the business they provide?
If one is honest about this question, then they know the answer is that there is more to it than just who they group is. There is something the group does and they do it everywhere they go that is problematic enough to the other groups that they hate this one group to varying degrees. It is possible that most of the world hates Jews simply for the ethnicity they are but it’s FAR more reasonable to say there is more to this, that there is something they do everywhere they go that causes the other groups to hate/despise them.
Islam is a great example of a group being hated everywhere they go for what they do. Every non-Muslim nation they try to covertly invade eventually ends up hating the Muslims and with good reason. The Muslims use Settler Colonialism to covertly conquer a land. I'm not arguing that Jews do the same, only that like the Muslims there must be something the Jews do everywhere they go that results in the other groups hating/despising them and wanting nothing to do with them.
There is nothing in this arguing that the Jews are bad people and yet if someone is not pro-Israel, they are treated like as if they are Jew Hating Muslim and often called antisemite. People are simply fed up with being treated that way; being labeled an antisemite b/c they are not pro-Israel. In America we are supposed to have free speech, the ability to criticize our government as well as any other and yet Israel is protected. There are at least 35 U.S. states that have passed "Anti-BDS" laws that prohibit state and local governments from awarding contracts to companies that actively engage in a commercial boycott of Israel. There is also a major, ongoing legislative push to expand the legal definition of "antisemitism" in ways that critics argue effectively penalize or suppress political criticism of Israel. This is done ONLY for Israel, and a sizeable number of Americans are simply fed up with this kind of treatment where our government puts Israel's needs/desires first.
Israel is a partner/ally that America should always be involved with/support. The issue is that we don't treat them like an ally but more like another, higher level of government that tells our elected leaders what to do. Israel does not always get its way today with Trump but their influence in our Congress via AIPAC is inexcusable and Americans are done with putting up with this.
While there is a growth amongst those who genuinely hate Jews b/c they are Jews, there is also a growing number of people who have no hatred of Jews but who are done with how Israel tries to tell our government what its foreign policies are with regards to the middle east. There also fed up with being called antisemites simply for not agreeing with Israel's policies. They have come to realize that the use of "antisemitism" is no longer about identifying some who hates Jews but labeling anyone who is not in alignment with Israel's wants/needs/goals as an antisemite. Israel is going to end up losing American support not b/c of Americans hating Jews but b/c enough of us are done with putting up with how Israel acts with regards to American governance.
I point this out b/c I believe it supports the Bar Patron fallacies argument that it is more likely that the biker gang does something everywhere it goes that angers the locals enough to want them gone. I believe that throughout history, anywhere Jews have gone, they have tried to do something similar to what Israel does today; take control over governance via influence.
(1) The argument depends on the judgments being independent. They’re not. They’re scapegoating based on being swept up in the same “unclean out group” narratives.
(2) The arguments against the Jews are batshit fucking crazy conspiracy theories. This isn’t like some reasoned criticisms of some mildly annoying facet of a people. No. They’re over the top blood libels.
