Vote against leaders who showed themselves to be tumbleweeds
Leaders who implement irrational civil-liberties-violating policies and then later complain about how such policies are irrational and unethical aren’t leaders
The time to be on the side of cost-benefit analyses and freedom was at the start, before devastating civil-liberties-violating policies were thrust upon society.
I am happy to have anyone on the side of freedom, whenever they arrive.
I am, however, NOT laissez faire about how and when our *leaders* came to defend freedom.
If they wish to be a voice for me, yet failed the Great Freedom Litmus Test of our generation, then they showed themselves unworthy to lead. They don’t have the character to defend freedom. They do so now only because the wind began blowing in a new direction.
And having limited information is no excuse. The information was there, and having limited information doesn’t AT ALL justify violating civil liberties en masse for untested and frankly ridiculous policies.
Leaders are under much more stringent standards, and yet it seems we have lowered standards such that many of the loudest voices now for freedom and rationality were among the first and loudest to agitate for lockdowns and masks.
Glad to have you on our side now. But no thanks on you claiming to lead. Your character is fragile, your principles muddled.
