Two Islamist Regimes, One Excuse
Who does this describe?
An Islamist dictatorship that
~ wages war on its neighbor, Israel
~ supports or is allied with multiple Islamist groups across the region, each oppressing its own people and attacking Israel
~ massacres its own people to maintain submission
~ pretends to be the “freedom fighters” of the very people it oppresses
~ is romanticized by an alliance of Islamists, Leftists, and Woke Rightists worldwide who share their hatred of Jews and the West
~ has vowed to destroy America
~ battles from civilian centers, treating its civilians as expendable
~ and when civilians die because of that strategy, its defenders suddenly discover their concern for civilians — using them as sticks to bludgeon Israel or the United States while excusing the Islamists.
If you answered “the Islamic Republic of Iran,” you’re right.
If you answered “Hamas in Gaza,” you’re also right.
Now notice something.
Israel never colonized Iran.
Israel never ruled Iran.
Israel shares no border with Iran.
Iran’s economic collapse cannot plausibly be blamed on Israel.
And yet most people have no trouble seeing that Iran’s misery is caused by its Islamist regime.
So if that’s obvious in Iran…
why is it so hard to consider that the misery in Gaza might also be caused by its Islamist regime — and not Israel?
