Twitter's new "free speech friendly" algorithms leave many with impressions well below what they had with half of the followers two years earlier
A comparison of @ewoodhouse7 and my impressions
A comparison of @EWoodhouse7 and my impressions since Covid reveals strong similarities (and we both had similar numbers of followers, now near 50k).
(1) Rapid growth up until May 2021, coinciding with when the Biden administration began working with social media to censor its opponents.
(2) The original levels of censorship were ramped up near the start of 2022. I was permanently suspended in Dec 2021, and although they accepted my appeal, I was clearly under some new, greater censorship level for more than a year until the start of 2023. Woodhouse was permanently suspended March 2022 and reinstated Dec 2022.
(3) In the new regime with @elonmusk, our impressions are generally well below what they were when we had half the followers two years earlier.
Note that it appears that impression data are no longer available before Aug 2022 in analytics, making this sort of plot impossible for you unless you happened to grab it earlier.
