Twitter is social media with Alzheimer’s
I had created gobs of tangled interlocking threads in Twitter, as have many of you, and sometimes our tangles tangled together.
That tangle served as one of my many external “brains,” my memories not actually in my skull, as I talk about in this Moment video below.
Twitter eliminated my tangle. (See this earlier post about my permanent suspension.)
Twitter had already been tearing at it, as it had suspended more and more people over the last two years. I would walk through those threads and significant fractions of them sublinked to now-suspended accounts. Neurons that led nowhere. My Twitter brain had early Alzheimer’s.
And now, your own tangles, where they touched mine, are missing pieces of them.
And that’s not just a Twitter thing. That’s a social network thing generally. It’s the complex interactions of viewpoints that create a healthy narrative over time, one that gets closer to the truth.
Instead, Big Tech censorship is complicit in hindering society’s ability to get to the truth.
