One moral of the trans-in-womens-sports debacle is that clearly irrational ideas can keep moving forward with a momentum of their own, EVEN if practically nobody actually supports it. No one dares to NOT parrot the "virtue position."
I agree, except that I doubt these are spontaneous grassroots sociological phenomena. The overwhelming support these radical positions enjoy in the West from government, megacorporations, mass media, and other elite institutions bespeaks the mobilization of large amounts of money, most likely to distract from class warfare and to divide and conquer.
