The rapid reconfiguring of societal norms away from the eternal truths that have stood in all human history about gender, as with much that doesn't make sense in the world today, is based in social and behavioral science, aka The Science (TM). Another shining example of The Science (TM) that our betters are telling us we must follow. Have you ever heard of "biopsychology?" I hadn't before, either. But here is a description of it:

Biopsychology "science" offers this rationale for changing public policy to conform to gender identity...it is "science" you know, "the best science" we must follow, The Science (TM):
As with all of the behavioral science-based public policy agenda, practitioners use a tiny bit of actual medical, natural science to build on and expand an entire narrative to fit the desired public policy goal of leaders and a powerful elite.
Like this study that says that the zygote stage of an embryo is often ambiguous in determining gender. And since the science of genetics as presented in a study like this is plausibly non-determinative it is up to any individual to identify as a gender of their own choosing that they feel most comfortable as:

The mainstreaming of gender dysphoria is to compel acceptance of insanity and induced mental illness. To become normalized so that skeptics and deniers are ridiculed and called dangerous criminals. To be deemed guilty of "misgendering" and "deadnaming" and punished in courts of law. Don't laugh. It's actually happening. An intimidation tactic to that makes acceptance of absurdities known to be false the safest mental place to be, individual defiant rational thought to be penalized and sanctioned. Men winning medals in women's sports - and celebrated for it - a pinnacle achievement in populations accepting absurdities.
The gender identity issue is just another step on the path the totalitarians of our age have ahead for us. Unless we reject their agenda and the coercive and manipulative psychological weapon of mass destruction being deployed against individual liberty and freedom. Their future is dystopian evil. The atrocities ahead on their preferred path are on a scale never seen before by mankind.
