Early warning signs of what would become the New “Woke” Right — what I began calling the Far Conspiracy Theory Right.
June 14–15, 2020.
While still deep in the fight against lockdowns, masks, and COVID mass hysteria, I was already pointing out that a subset of the anti-lockdown movement was falling into the same cognitive trap as Creationists and Intelligent Design advocates:
An inability to grasp that complex, seemingly coordinated outcomes can emerge from decentralized mechanisms, with no central designer pulling the strings.
The meme (third image) below captures the split that was already emerging.
On one side, rational pushback against exaggerated risks, draconian restrictions, and failed interventions.
On the other, a rapid descent into “they released the virus,” “viruses don’t exist,” “Darwin is a psyop,” “9/11 was an inside job,” “Zee Jews,” and the rest.
That second group didn’t remain some fringe COVID-era oddity.
It became a core constituency of the Far Conspiracy Theory Right — the Woke Right illness we’re dealing with today.
