Each of those three words are, like all words in every natural language, vague, having loads of instances in their borderline region. But that in no way undermines them each being binary. That's the point.

You say that neither Judge Ketanji, nor any of us can define "woman". That is incorrect. I defined it. That is MY point.

Neither "the right" nor "the left" is so stupid and "cartoonish" as you would have us believe.

Well, maybe you're right about the left...

I didn’t say that. I said that that definition, supposing it’s THE definition, is still “suffering” from loads of dust in between cases. But it’s a fallacy to believe that that means it’s not a binary distinction.

Oh, I thought you were referring to my comment.

“Woman” as actually used in culture is often not the low level biology one. The actual set of images, say, we would label “woman” vs “man” is one common sense of the term “sex,” and will have loads of fuzzy cases. Point is that that doesn’t undermine that sense still being binary.

I can agree that man/woman is a binary categorization of human adults, and that hermaphrodites and other very rare special cases exist.

A standard dictionary or a fifth-grader should be able to define the word "woman". Can you agree that The Right was not cartoonishly "wrong" to expect a Supreme Court justice to be able to do so?
