Covid hysteria made me appreciate that the States inexorably falls into the same old polarized Left-Right teams, because that meant that as time went, eventually more like 50% of the country would side with Team Reality, even if for no reflective rational reason. I’ll take that!
Might political polarization be a fire break against mass delusion? Moment 129
The two part system exists as a form of control, not of choice. At teh start the US had more than just parties and not like today where those other parties have little to no influence. The Democrat/Republican choice in politics is about providing the illusion of choice. Regardless of which party is in control they both move in the same general direction; both seek more governmental control, more legislation and more money. They have very differing opinions on select politically charged topics like abortion and Free Speech but both sides seek to expand the power of government. I view they're arguing (for teh cameras) as being like that of professional wrestling where teh good guys and the bad guys yell at each other but when backstage they are patting each on the back and taking crap about their viewers. Within each party there are a select few who do stand outa nd who are genuinely trying to do the job they were elected to but the majority are what I call hacks. The wealth and or politically connected who's entire career is about being in politics so they can monetize political favors.
