Our new book is dedicated to zucchini bread everywhere, and readers will know why. One reader asked AI to create an image of two authors anrguing over zucchini bread (which now gives you a hint of its role in the book), and below is the image it created.
What I find more interesting with these AI created images is the choices made for the tertiary level pieces, those that are not part of the main description request but induced non the less. For example why is their a spoon that is best on the table? Why is one person holding bread while the other that which looks to be a zucchini versus both holding zucchini bread? Notice how in these AI generated images while they tend to get the faces they seem to always have difficulty with the hands. In this image the one on the right has a 3rd right hand finger that appears to be partially burnt and the thumb is not in alignment with the hands base for where the thumb should connect to the hand.
I get the difficulties with things like the hands but only to an extent since these AI's sources are billions of existing images. As one who was into art when young and has many hours of practicing drawing hands I get the difficulty but that doesn't explain some of teh other odd choices like the bent spoon or other distorted pieces. It's almost as if what the AI is showing us is it own distorted view of reality, how it perceives reality where man is distorted, broken and perhaps in need of repair. Most of the generation of persons working in tech are very much a part of the green movement and other more youth focused beliefs that teach that man kind is a virus to the planet. We also know code authors can influence the code so would it r4ally be shocking to find out that most if not a vast majority of those working on AI believe things like the idea that mankind is a virus? I'm far more scared/concerned about the mindset/goals of the authors of AI than the AI product itself.
